Living in Saskatchewan means it gets pretty darn cold around here!
You know like…-45 C cold that often lasts for days!Too cold to do anything outside which leaves kids pretty bored.
When the weather gets cold, it’s easy to utilize tech to keep out littles distracted. But there are other ways!
One of my favourite things to do when the weather gets too cold for outdoor play, is to bring some inside!
Playing with snow indoors offers all the benefits, without the risk of frost bite. Plus as it adjusts to the indoor temp it creates a great opportunity to make some indoor mini snowmen!
All you need is a plastic storage bucket, and some things for your kiddo to play with in the snow. Seriously anything from your kitchen drawers will do the trick!
Mr. A spent a good half hour exploring the snow with some chop sticks, and measuring cups, digging, scooping, and dumping.
In the past I’ve let my kids explore snow with food colouring, but given Mr. A is only 20 months I really didn’t want to deal with a bigger mess than I had to.
So what are you waiting for? Grab a coat and a bucket, and your boots and make a quick dash out! Your kids (and your sanity) will thank you!
